Yukio Tanaka, known as "Koyuki" by his friends, is a regular 14-year-old Japanese boy entering junior high school. His boring life is changed when he saves an odd-looking dog, named Beck, from some kids. Beck's owner turns out to be an emerging rock musician, 16-year-old Ryusuke Minami, who soon influences Koyuki to start playing the guitar. The story focuses on the trials and tribulations of their rock band named Beck, and Koyuki's relationships with its members, in particular Ryusuke and his 14-year-old half-sister Maho.

Makunouchi Ippo was an extremely shy high school student who never had the time to make friends because he was always busy helping his mother run their family fishing charter business. Because he kept to himself, a group of bullies led by Umezawa got into the habit of picking on him. On one particular day, these bullies decided to give him a rather serious beating, but a middle-weight professional boxer who was passing by stopped the bullies and took the injured Ippo to the Kamogawa Gym owned by retired boxer Genji Kamogawa, to treat his wounds. After Ippo awoke to the sounds of boxers training, the boxer who saved him, Mamoru Takamura, tried to cheer Ippo up by letting him vent his frustrations on a sandbag. It was then that they had their first glimpse into Ippo's talent for boxing

Naruto Uzumaki est un jeune garçon de 12 ans du village caché de Konoha dans le pays du Feu. Il est rejeté par tous les habitants du village car il porte en lui le démon Renard à neuf queues Kyuubi, scellé en lui à sa naissance par le 4 ème Hokage de Konoha. Son rêve est de devenir à son tour Hokage et être le plus fort d'entre eux pour prouver aux habitants du village sa valeur. Finalement Naruto va trouver en Iruka, son sensei, un père qui va le protéger de la solitude grâce à cette aide il va franchir de nombreuse étapes. Sasuke Uchiha et Sakura Haruno sont ses deux camarades d'équipes ninja. Sasuke dernier descendant du clan le plus réputé de Konoha méprise Naruto et ce dernier n'a qu'une envie: le dépasser (et sortir avec la jolie Sakura... ). En progressant et au fil de la série, Naruto va rencontrer des adversaires de plus en plus fort qui vont lui permettre de progresser sur la route de son but final : devenair Hokage du Village de Konoha...
